If you live in Canada and don’t ever want to miss out on a deal, then ShopCatch may just be exactly what you’re looking for.
ShopCatch uses your smartphone location to deliver deals by major retailers in shopping malls near you. From home, I can see all the deals at my local shopping mall. Or if you’re already at the mall, just pull out your phone and check out the deals around you. I am now in the habit of opening the app when I’m at the mall. It’s handy to see what the current deals are. Just the other day it lead me to Eddie Bauer as they were having an outerwear sale and that was exactly what I was in the market to buy. Honestly, I forgot about Eddie Bauer (as I rarely shop at that end of the mall) but ShopCatch rescued me.
At the time of writing, the deals I see near me include a Toys “R” Us promotion to save $5.00 off any Hasbro board game $9.67 and up, if you bring in an old board game. At Roots, you can save 15% off your entire purchase for a limited time. Some deals require a coupon which you can download right from the app. At Old Navy, you can save $5.00 off your purchase of $25 or more if you visit their Facebook fan page and fill in your name. By clicking on the link, it takes you right to their Facebook page.
ShopCatch originally started with deals only in Toronto, but they have informed me that deals can now be found across Canada.
I think this app has great potential. I’m an information junkie yet I no longer read a newspaper, let alone go through all the flyers each week. Honestly, I get most of my info from either my smartphone or tablet these days and ShopCatch allows me to quickly see what I otherwise would have missed because I didn’t pick up the paper.
