Why AppHipMom loves it: Let your child create and star in their very own animated movie
Who can’t love an app that allows kids to bring out their creativity? Not only does Puppet Pals 2 let your child dictate the film but it’ll also let your child take on the leading role as well.
Puppet Pals 2 walks your child through the creative process of making a film. First, you must decide on a location. With options such as the Wild West, space, North Pole and the farm, anything goes! Depending on the set selected, there are corresponding ride-on options in the form of animals or vehicles. Then it’s time to choose the cast. Just think, you can have famous characters such as Einstein, Shakespeare and Mark Twain star in your film. You can even mix and match the heads and bodies of the characters. For example you can place an astronaut head on a ballerina body. If you’re feeling adventurous, why not have your child as the lead character? There’s an option to snap a self portrait from within the app. All you have to do is find the body that best accompanies it. You can imagine the laughs you’ll get going this route.
Last but not least is to add music to complete the piece. The app contains 18 soundtracks, 3 moods for each of the locations. You’re not tied down to your chosen locale, but it offers a starting point should your child be a bit indecisive or should they want to mix things up a bit.
Love that you can pose the character’s arms and legs and even make their mouths move as they’re talking. Simply pinch and zoom to make characters larger or smaller. When ready, just hit the red record button and let the characters come to life through your child’s narration and movement of characters.
Who knows, if you play your cards right, you may find yourself in a supporting role riding the next rocket into space.
