Why AppHipMom loves it: photo editing made easy
Smart phones have sure changed the way we do things such as taking photos. Watching your baby grow and reach milestones are memories in the making. No longer do you have to carry a camera around to capture those moments. Smart phone cameras have come a long way and adding photo embellishments prior to sharing with friends and family is the new norm and the PicsArt Photo Studio app has made that so easy for people like myself, with no photography/design background.
I have to admit that my daughter probably had more patience than me trying all the features (there are many). I will give something a try but if I can’t figure it out after a few minutes, I’m done, you’ve lost me. But I found PicsArt pretty intuitive although you’re best to watch the video tutorials if you have something specific in mind you wanted to achieve.
My favorite features include photo collage and photo blending. There are so many choices to choose from with the collage. You can customize the way it looks, from choosing the grid to picking from many pre-designed frames. This is my top pick, especially wonderful when you have kids in sports or extra curricular activities. You can even add text so that you’ll always remember the event. It’s a fun way to display photos from the day to share with family and friends. Sharing is so simple, as it can be done directly from the app, whether via email, Facebook, Twitter, Dropbox or Flickr. Photo blending lets you take 2 photos and blend them into 1. This makes for some pretty awesome photo effects.
I also love that the folks at PicsArt continues to share many “how to” videos and tutorials. For example, there’s currently a photomanipulation tutorial on how to mix 2 people in 1, how to fake an action photo with motion blur and even learn to draw caricatures (you can draw on photo or draw from blank canvass from the app).
Though I love all the fun effects, the app gets down to basics too. You can crop (even to fun shapes), rotate, remove red-eye, add borders and filters also. This is one jammed packed app that I’m surprised is free. Of course, you will have to deal with the ads but they can be removed with an in-app purchase of $5.99.
So, for all you busy on-the-go moms or if your kids have a creative flair, this app is a must have.
